Controlling Conversation by Wisdom
Father, I desire that my conversation and my behavior be controlled by the wisdom that comes from heaven, which is first of all pure. I believe in goodness, and I value Your approval; therefore, I fix my mind on whatever is true and honorable and just and pure and lovely and admirable. I model my conduct on what I have learned from the Scriptures, and the God of peace is with me. I purify my soul in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love for my fellow workers, whom I love fervently with a pure heart. It is my prayer that I will overflow more and more with love for others, while at the same time growing in spiritual knowledge and insight, for I want always to see clearly the difference between right and wrong and to be inwardly clean. May I always be doing those good, kind things that show I am a child of God, for this will bring much praise and glory to You. Father, I submit to Your Word, which is living and active. Sharper than any two-edged sword; it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of my heart. Surely You desire truth in the inner parts; You teach me wisdom in the inmost place. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
